LADS OPC UA - Integrate vacuum pumps into your digital laboratory
LADS OPC UA is setting a new standard for how laboratory devices communicate and integrate. By enabling a common language between lab equipment such as vacuum pumps and connected applications, it allows faster networking and more efficient data exchange across digital lab environments. VACUUBRAND is actively advancing this development by working on LADS-enabled solutions that support seamless integration into digital laboratory infrastructures, enabling standardized control, monitoring, and data logging.

What is LADS?
LADS (Laboratory and Analytical Device Standard) is the new manufacturer-independent communication standard for laboratory and analytical devices as well as software solutions.
It ensures that, for example, vacuum pumps and connected applications use a common language and can be networked quickly and cost-effectively. LADS enables standardized control, monitoring, and data logging.

OPC UA as technical foundation
LADS is a Companion Specification of OPC UA – the globally established standard for secure machine-to-machine communication from Industry 4.0 – and extends it with data models specifically designed for laboratories.
The result: True interoperability across all manufacturers and device types. LADS devices can be seamlessly integrated into LIMS, ELN, MES, SCADA, or cloud platforms. This forms the foundation for Laboratory 4.0 with automated workflows, auditable processes, and AI-ready data.
LADS-ready vacuum pumps from VACUUBRAND for the digital laboratory
With LADS OPC UA, vacuum technology becomes an integrated part of your digital laboratory infrastructure – for standardized control, monitoring, and data logging.
The pump speaks the same language as your other laboratory devices and can be easily connected – the foundation for monitoring and automation of your vacuum processes.
Which products with LADS interface does VACUUBRAND offer?
VACUUBRAND offers comprehensive LADS support for selected new vacuum pumps with integrated VACUU·SELECT vacuum controller (e.g., PC 3001 VARIO select). New LADS-enabled devices can be supplied upon request, allowing seamless integration into networked laboratory environments.
