Kühner LT-X incubator shaker
Space saving stackable incubator shaker
The Kuhner LT-X (Lab-Therm) incubator shaker has the same capabilities as the larger ISF1-X and ISF4-X models. The incubator shaker was specially developed to address the shaking needs of the biotechnology and pharmaceutical industries. The practical size of the LT-X means it will fit in any laboratory.

Exceptional chamber height means flasks up to 6 litres capacity can be accommodated. If using smaller flasks, there is sufficient head height to fit one or two stationary trays above the shaking table. It is also possible to stack two LT-X together without the need for special kits or tools.
• Functionality through direct drive
The maintenance-free direct drive guarantees long and economical performance from the LT-X. The shaking diameter can be changed at any time thanks to Kuhner’s unique direct drive system. The integrated drive is protected from spills and the all stainless steel interior has a drain at the back for any unwanted liquids. The chamber can be cleaned using chemicals or sterilized with optional UV lighting.
• Safety and quality
A door switch ensures the motor stops as soon as the door is opened. After closing the door properly, the motor restarts. The safety, reliability and quality of our shakers are of personal concern to everyone at Kuhner which is why all our machines are supplied with a 5 year warranty.
• Configuration
The LT-X can be equipped with options for CO2, O2,controlled humidity, LED photosynthesis, UV lighting and much more. It is now also possible to integrate measuring data from Kuhner shakers with your company’s own network using Kuhner Insight software together with the NET-60 interface.

Kühner ISF4-X incubator shaker
Large incubator shaker with a minimal footprint and up to five independent shaker units
The Kuhner ISF4-X incubator shaker offers large shaking capacity with temperature, humidity and CO2 control all available. The shaker cabinet can incorporate four or even five independent shaking units which are height adjustable. The shaking diameter and speed of each unit can be individually selected. Standard diameters are 12.5, 25 and 50 mm. Other shaking diameters are possible.

• Safety and convenience
The large door opening of the ISF4-X allows easy access to the shake flasks inside. The doors are fitted with a safety switch to ensure shaking stops when the doors are opened.
The large windows allow a clear view of incubator’s contents. The entire ISF4-X chamber is made of stainless steel making sterilisation with chemicals possible.
• Energy saving operation
The highly efficient direct drive system means economic low power consumption and the cooling system also operates with energy efficiency.
• Electrical protection
Automatic supervision of the mains voltage protects the shaker and in the event of a voltage spike the unit disconnects from the mains. The machine resumes operation at the set values once power is restored.

Kühner SB10-X single-use bioreactor
Orbital shaken benchtop bioreactor for single-use bags
The SB10-X is an orbital shaken benchtop bioreactor system for the cultivation of human, mammalian and plant cells in a single-use bag. It consists of six modules (excluding the bag) and has a working volume from 4 litres up to 12 litres. The SB10-X can be used in research, process development or as a pilot scale bioreactor.

Single-use bag for a fast and simple set up
The cylindrical vessel accepts a single-use 3D bag. This bag requires no additional mixing device, enables quick set up times and eliminates elaborate cleaning and sterilising procedures. Various ports are incorporated to allow feeding, inoculation, harvesting and sampling. The standard bag has built-in optical sensors for pH/DO allowing online measurement and control of pH and DO in the medium. Two other bag types are available: a basic single-use bag with no optical sensors and a perfusion bag for ATF and TFF perfusion.
• Orbital motion
The orbital motion of the SB10-X ensures efficient liquid mixing. It facilitates high oxygen transfer rates with low shear forces. Mechanical stress on the cells is reduced thanks to bubble-free surface gassing with almost no frothing. This motion is particularly suitable for microcarrier cultivation. The SB10-X uses the unique Kuhner direct drive which is very robust and provides accurate control of the orbital speed.
• Trouble free scale-up
The SB10-X fills a gap in the scale-up chain from commonly used single-use flasks all the way up to 50 L and 200 L bioreactors. The consistent hydrodynamics of shaken bioreactors provide reproducible cultivation conditions throughout the volume range. The culture from the SB10-X can serve as a preculture for the SB50-X and SB200-X. The SB10-X can also be used as a pilot scale bioreactor.
• Heating and online pH & DO measurement
The tray module, which is fixed onto the ES-X shaker module, contains integrated heating and the connections for online pH and DO measurement.
•Vessel module
Special emphasis has been placed on developing a user-friendly vessel module. The vessel together with its bag can be easily detached by the user and carried to the clean bench.
• Filter heater
A filter heater for one exhaust filter is placed above the vessel module. The magnetic mounting makes handling the filter heater very simple and allows its location in various places. The filter heater combats water vapour condensation in the outlet air preventing blockages in the membrane.
• Control unit and software
The compact and functional design of the control unit provides easy handling and monitoring of the bioprocess parameters. The control unit has an integrated and adjustable 12” touch screen with USB and Ethernet connections. The Kuhner Insight application software for data recording, calibration, programming and controlling is user-friendly and 21 CFR Part 11 compliant. Control of pH/DO, medium temperature, shaking frequency and gas flow rate and mixture is possible.
• Pumping system
The control unit incorporates three peristaltic pumps which allow aseptic fluid management. This enables simple regulation of the pH-value, feeding and the transfer of the culture media (scale-up or processing).
• Gas mixing (FlowCon)
The SB10-X control unit has an integrated gas mixing device (FlowCon).
Whether stabilizing the pH with CO2, or preventing low dissolved oxygen concentrations, the gas mixer meets all user needs. Four mass flow controllers (N2, O2, CO2 and air or gas mixture) ensure highly accurate and reproducible gas mixing. An integrated pressure sensor prevents over pressure in the bioreactor. Step limits can be freely programmed by the user. Integrated air filters and back pressure valves ensure interference free and long operating times for the FlowCon.

The inner liners meet the safety requirements of EU Directive 2014/34/EU (ATEX) and have been tested according to the EN 1127-1, IEC 60079-0 and IEC 60079-15 standards by electro-suisse – SEV (Swiss association for electrical and power engineering and information technology), an approved ATEX conformity evaluation organisation.

• +2 °C SafetyDevice
If the temperature falls below +2 °C due to a malfunction, the SafetyDevice takes control, stabilising the temperature, activating the alarm and protecting the contents from freezing
• ±5 °C temperature stability
Sensitive substances cannot be subjected to large deviations from the set storage temperature. Liebherr freezers guarantee a temperature fluctuation of no more than ±5 °C, so that the valuable goods you store in them are optimally protected and their quality is preserved.

• Min./max. temperature log
The min./max. temperature log stores the minimum and maximum interior temperatures and shows on the display whether the storage temperatures were within the tolerance limits.
• Easy-to-clean interior
The inner liner made of fully recyclable, robust and odourless polystyrene is manufactured in one piece without joints. This makes it quick and easy to clean the large, rounded corners.
• Feedthrough for external sensors
An integrated opening allows a separate sensor to be connected for additional temperature monitoring without having to drill holes or break the door seal.
• Mechanical lock
Liebherr professional appliances are equipped with a mechanical lock and two keys. This ensures that unauthorized persons cannot access your valuable and sensitive stored goods.

Replaceable door seal
Save time and money: the insertable Liebherr door seals are easy to change. If a seal is damaged, you can replace it yourself without any tools. Contact Liebherr Customer Service to purchase replacements.
•Self-closing door < 90°
To make loading, unloading and cleaning easier, the appliance door stays open if opened by more than 90°. If the opening angle is less than 90°, it closes automatically for safety.
• SmartFrost
Where there’s no ice, there’s no need to defrost: SmartFrost greatly reduces the frost build-up in the interior and on stored products. Defrosting is required less often – and when it is necessary, it is made much easier by the smooth, easy-to-clean interior walls. The evaporator is embedded in foam insulation, ensuring high energy efficiency and uniform cooling.
