The Sigma 3-18KT combines a compact design with high performance and precisely controlled refrigeration. The refrigerated centrifuge delivers a relative centrifugal force of over 30,000 × g and guarantees a sample temperature of 4 °C even at maximum speed, providing a reliable solution for processing temperature-sensitive samples.
The Rapid Temp rapid cooling function, activated via a dedicated button, allows the rotor to be precooled before centrifugation begins. Rotor temperature control is also possible at standstill, helping to maintain suitable temperature conditions throughout the workflow.
The wide range of rotors and accessories ensures that the instrument meets the varied demands of everyday laboratory work. A practical accessory is the FA-8x50-V fixed-angle rotor for 8 × 50 ml conical centrifuge tubes, which complies with the latest aerosol-tightness standard. Its RapidTurn lid mechanism enables quick and convenient opening and closing, while its 40° rotor angle helps the pellet form in the centre of the tube bottom.
The Spincontrol T Expert touchscreen controller supports laboratory work with a large display, clearly structured menus and an easy-to-use interface. In addition to basic parameter settings, it offers quality management functions, centrifugation data export via USB, access to service information via QR code and the option to use the Sigma Timer app. The 99 program memory slots allow frequently used settings to be stored and quickly recalled, while optional user management and export mode are also available.
Safe operation is supported by automatic rotor detection, digital imbalance monitoring and rotor life monitoring. The motorised lid lock and LED run indicator ensure convenient use, while the maintenance-free induction motor and easy-to-clean stainless steel chamber simplify everyday operation.
The Sigma 3-18KT offers energy-efficient operation thanks to ECO Mode. After a preset period of inactivity, the refrigeration system automatically switches off and the display dims. This reduces energy consumption and noise levels while also contributing to a longer service life for the refrigeration system.
